Is Target open on Thanksgiving? Here's what you need to know
Thanksgiving is upon us and if you're forgetting something, your first instinct might be to head to Target. However, that's not the best idea on Thanksgiving Day.
In previous years, Target has closed its door on Thanksgiving Day and that's a trend we've seen other big companies follow. In a press release shared on November 12th, Target announced that it is closed on Thanksgiving Day.
This news shouldn't come as a surprise as it has been closed on Thanksgiving for the past few years so employees can enjoy their holiday. Of course, it doesn't help that employees have to rest up to be able to prepare for all the Black Friday sales either.
For Black Friday though, Target has loads of amazing deals and even, a special release for all my Taylor Swift fans out there so no doubt Target is going to be hustling and bustling when it opens its doors on Black Friday.
Target is closed on Thanksgiving but will open at 6am on November 29th.
For those who don't have their finger on the pulse of pop culture, Black Friday was always going to be a huge day for Target. Taylor Swift announced that her new book Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour Book will be released in-stores only. No doubt Swifties are going to be lining up to get their hands on this unique release from Swift.
In addition to Swift's book being released, Target is also the home for Taylor's The Tortured Poets Department: The Anthology CD and vinyl. Originally, it was released as two different albums but Swift combined them so CDs and vinyls will be available for purchase. The one note Target shared in the press release is that there is a limit of 4 of each item per guest. Please be aware of that as it will cause less stress to the Target employees who are probably already stressed.
Aside from Taylor Swift's release, Target is already sharing its Black Friday deals online with deals on items such as TVs, video games, board games, toys, and kitchen items among much more. You can find the entire list of Black Friday deals online. If you're not brave enough to try to hang with Swifties, then there are plenty of awesome deals to snag online.
Last but certainly not least, most Target locations are going to have extended holiday hours to ensure you get everyone and everything on your list. Going back to the press release, Target is set to start these hours on November 30th until December 23rd. Stores will open at 7 am and then close at midnight. If you're looking to shop during those later hours, be sure to check with your local store as some won't be open that late.
If you're hosting and need a last-minute meal, make sure to head to Target to grab its Thanksgiving Meal for 4 under $20.00. As long as your Target has all the items, you should be able to make it happen. No matter if you're hosting or just need to grab something quick, make sure to do it before Target closes its doors on Wednesday night.
