Gladiator 2 world premiere will take place in London, England
We are one day closer to the premiere of Gladiator 2, which means another film update, this time about the actual world premiere itself. According to Variety, Gladiator 2 will have its first red carpet in London, England as the "72nd Royal Film Performance" on November 13.
Although the film will arrive to U.K theaters on November 15 and in the U.S. on November 22, the world premiere will be a fundraising event, with cast and crew anticipated to attend. CEO of the Film and TV Charity Marcus Ryder explained that "the event presents an opportunity to highlight the exceptional dedication and talent of those who work tirelessly behind the scenes. This Performance also allows us to raise crucial funds that enable us to continue offering vital support to talent in the film, TV, and cinema industry as they navigate challenging times.”
Who will be in Gladiator 2?
The film, a sequel to the 2000 award-winning Gladiator, stars a talented cast, including Paul Mescal, Pedro Pascal, Denzel Washington, and Joseph Quinn. Several stars such as Connie Nielsen, Spencer Treat Clark, Djimon Hounsou, and Derek Jacobi are expected to reprise their roles.
Like its predecessor, Gladiator 2 will tell a tale of revenge set during the established and nearly indestructible Roman Empire. After losing everything to Rome, Lucius (Mescal) finds himself becoming a gladiator, forced to fight in the legendary Colosseum against men and beast alike. He will fight in one-on-one combat and during dramatic battle reenactments, all for the pleasure and entertainment of Rome and its unhinged emperors Geta (Quinn) and Caracalla (Fred Hechinger).
Recently, Paramount Pictures submitted the film for 15 Oscar 2025 nomination considerations including Best Actor (Mescal), Best Supporting Actor (Washington, Pascal, Quinn, Hechinger, Lior Raz, Jacobi), Best Supporting Actress (Nielsen), and Best Picture (Douglas Wick, p.g.a., Ridley Scott p.g.a, Lucy Fisher p.g.a, Michael Pruss p.g.a, David Franzoni).
