La Brea is officially ending with its shortened six-episode third season. But, just because there are only six episodes left to end the mystery drama does not mean they will be taking the ending lightly. Instead, the season 3 trailer already hints that things will be ending with a bang.
When season two left off, Eve was whisked away to an uncertain time and place. While it is unclear just how included Eve will be in the overall final season, La Brea’s main theme of forcing the Harris family to try and reunite remains a steadfast part of the show.
La Brea has always questioned if those trapped in 10,000 B.C. will ever make it home, and season three has no choice but to finally give the characters and the audience the answer to that question. Ultimately, the survivors either had to make it home, be trapped in 10,000 B.C., or start their life over in another time.
The season three trailer hints at more dangers, such as a dinosaur attack, and the stakes continue to grow bigger. La Brea only has six episodes to deliver its conclusion. The show’s history suggests that may be enough time to craft an ending, especially as how the storylines and revelations tend to move quickly.
But will six episodes be enough to give La Brea a solid conclusion and wrap up all remaining storylines and questions? Or will the final season risk the feeling of being rushed to reach an ending?
The trailer’s hints are enough to suggest the bigger questions of the season without revealing too much, which still gives the audience things to be excited about and questions to have about the show’s final group of episodes.
Where is Eve? Will she be reunited with her family? Will everyone return to their time? Tune in to find out.
La Brea season 3 premieres on Tuesday, January 9th, 2024.
