Nancy Drew brings back a familiar face in “The Return of the Killer’s Hook”
Nancy Drew is going all out this season and that means bringing back a rather familiar face and a storyline that even Ryan is familiar with. Of course, just because a story is familiar, that doesn’t mean that drama, mayhem, and even more mystery can’t pop up. After all, this is Nancy Drew we are talking about.
With Ace and Nancy avoiding each other, it is clear that the rest of the Drew Crew needs to step up to not only pull Nancy out of her funk, but also help solve an interesting mystery that is causing danger on a movie set. That’s right, Horseshoe Bay is the set of a movie, and that movie is all about a killer with a hook.
Unfortunately, that sludge water that the Drew Crew hasn’t been able to handle is up to its old tricks again and that means we have a dangerous case on our hands. In fact, at one point we see Bess get hurt on the movie set because what was supposed to be fake hooks ended up being real ones.
Nancy Drew may be dealing with heartbreak, but she still knows how to solve a mystery
The thing about Nancy Drew is that even with smaller cases, they all lead back to the larger mystery of the season and in this case, it seems to revolve around a dark secret lurking in Horseshoe Bay.
We don’t know what the secret is yet, of course, but it is clear that more people in this town know about the paranormal than we originally thought. Or at the very least, more people knew before something hid those memories away.
Thanks to the sludge water, those memories are returning and it means that characters are remembering their own bad deeds. Some are remembering what happened to them and others are being used as pawns to relive those traumatic times.
Something is a foot in Horseshoe Bay and it is up to Nancy Drew and the rest of the Drew Crew to figure out what the big, dark secret is and save the entire town from potential ruin. Of course, there is also the matter of the new chief of police to contend with, who is rather anti-supernatural happenings. Plus, with her apparently gunning for Bess, it may be harder to stop what’s happening than it has ever been before.
