Some romance books feel like a big hug, and to me, that’s Lovelight Farms by B.K. Borison. The series took over in 2022 and eventually got picked up by Berkley.

Currently, there are three books out in the series. All of them are being republished by Berkley this summer and the first is obviously book 1, Lovelight Farms. As someone who has read and loved these books, I knew I wanted to feature them on Culturess.

If you’re a romance reader, I’m sure you’re already familiar with them. If not, I still feel like you might end up enjoying them. It’s also wild to me to think that Lovelight Farms was B.K. Borison’s debut novel. I mean it’s just so good.

I won’t gush too much about it just yet, but if you’re looking to pick up Lovelight Farms on release day and want to know why you should read it, we’ve got 5 reasons why it’s worth the buy.

Let’s get into why B.K. Borison’s Lovelight Farms is a must-buy.

First, I’d like to thank Berkley for sending me a digital ARC as I really do adore this series and B.K. Borison so I’m incredibly happy this one was picked up by a publisher. However if you’re hesitant on reading the series, then let’s get into why it’s the perfect read on its release day.

1. It’s not actually a Christmas book.

The first reason I have to give why it’s worth picking up on release day is that Lovelight Farms isn’t technically a Christmas book. That’s not to say there aren’t some Christmassy elements in there. I mean Lovelight Farms is actually the name of the Christmas tree farm our main character, Stella owns and it’s honestly the perfect setting for a story like this.

2. The characters are hard to not fall in love with.

I’d be doing a disservice to not talk about Stella and Luka first. Stella is the owner of the Christmas tree farm and Luka is her best friend and maybe more. These two are both dealing with a lot and it’s clear they’re just trying to figure it out. It’s just so nice to see two characters who are figuring it out but they aren’t the only ones.

We’re also introduced to Stella’s other best friends and co-workers. There’s Beckett and Layla who the upcoming books follow. However, we get a look at who they are as people, their roles at the farm, and an idea of who their romances might end up being with. You come to really love these characters and by the end, you’re dying for their stories.

3. The small-town setting is unmatched.

Being set on a Christmas tree farm is a setting enough, but we also end up being introduced to the town which is Inglewild, Maryland. While it seems like the typical small-town setting, there is so much more there. These townspeople are fully in each other’s business and do everything they can to not only protect the citizen but also meddle when they get a chance. To me, it just seems incredibly realistic and it’s obvious B.K. Borison took care in writing the town the way she did.

4. The tropes featured in Lovelight Farms are just incredible.

I feel like tropes have become something romance authors use as a buzzword yet to me, there is something so unique about the tropes featured in Lovelight Farms. It’s a friends-to-lovers story with some fake dating sprinkled in as Stella and Luka pretended to be in a relationship to help get the farm some publicity.

However, it’s clear from the very start that the two aren’t fooling anyway and it’s one of those “It’s Always Been You” type of stories. I just remember this one being such a soft and sweet romance between Stella and Luka without much fuss which is exactly where B.K. Borison excels.

5. Lovelight Farms is the softest romance book.

Life is hard and sometimes, you just need something to distract you and help you escape. To me, that’s exactly what Lovelight Farms is. Seeing the love blossom between Stella and Luka is so beautiful. It’s clear Stella and Luka are meant for each other by the little ways they take care of each other and go out of their way to make each other feel special.

There is something so cozy and comforting in reading about such tender love. While I do adore the three books in this series, I will say that Lovelight Farms holds such a special place in my heart because I fell so deeply in love with these characters and their story. Regardless if you’re picking it up for the first time or for a re-read, you can’t go wrong.
