What’s new in April 2023 for Xbox Games with Gold members

Xbox Games with Gold gives subscribers access to two free games each month. Usually, they’re fairly standard and a little underwhelming, especially since the Microsoft offering cut the monthly games down from four to two.

Still, if you’re a subscriber, you get the games!

Below are your free games for April and the dates they’re available to download:

• Out of Space: Couch Edition, April 1 to 30
• Peaky Blinders: Mastermind, April 16 to May 15

April highlights for Xbox Games with Gold members

First up is Out of Space: Couch Edition, which is set in outer space, if the title didn’t give it away. The premise is fairly straightforward: You’re tasked with creating resources and building out housekeeping systems to build a sustainable environment in outer space. The kicker is that there’s a deadly alien infestation that you also have to keep in check.

It’s a decent game and fun for co-op play.

You also get access to Peaky Blinders: Mastermind, which acts as a prequel to the television show. You have your choice to control any of the six members of the Shelby family, each of whom has different strengths and weaknesses depending on the situation.

There’s also a fun mechanic where you get to move through time, both backward and forwards. It’s a little reminiscent of Deathloop in a way. It’s a decent puzzle game that has some cool mechanics that don’t do anything groundbreaking with them. But if you’re a fan of the show, it’s fun to play as the different characters.

Not much else can be said about the April offerings for Games with Gold. Most gamers are waiting to hear if it gets canceled and just looped into Game Pass. But we’re still here and chugging right along!
