While Valentine’s Day is known for being a sweet holiday, it can be sexy too. That’s why some will decide to read some steamy books for the holiday.

Let me start off by saying that there’s nothing wrong with reading romance books without any steam. If that’s your cup of tea, that’s great. However, there are some people who like to see that connection on the page in an intimate scene.

With that being said, these are books that I consider steamy to me. Everyone has a different level of steam or spice they rate things on. For me, these books were steamy and sexy to me as that type of romance reader.

Regardless of how you rank or think of these terms in your mind, you’re sure to find something sexy within these pages for Valentine’s Day.

These six romance books are steamy delights for Valentine’s Day 2023.

As I said, everyone has a different idea of what a steamy/spicy book is so if these are either too steamy or don’t have enough steam, then take this list with a grain of salt. However, if you’re in the market for something fun and steamy for Valentine’s Day, this should satisfy your craving.

1. Praise by Sara Cate

The first book making my list actually inspired it and that’s Praise by Sara Cate. While this book was originally self-published, it’s now going to be published traditionally with Sourcebooks Casablanca. The release date isn’t until Valentine’s Day so this is the perfect one to buy on that day or enjoy that evening.

Praise follows Charlie who goes to meet her ex’s dad to get her security deposit but he thinks she’s his new secretary/submissive. Despite the misunderstanding, Emerson hires her as his actual secretary, and then sparks fly between the two. This book was so steamy as the backdrop of the story is a sex club. There are also so many sweet and tender moments that I couldn’t get enough of.

2. Harbor by Rebekah Weatherspoon

When it comes to romance books, most of us are used to a couple being two people, but Harbor is slightly different. This is actually a polyamorous romance between two men who are in a relationship and the woman they’re adding. I won’t get too much into the plot as it’s a pretty heavy one as all of them are dealing with the grief of losing their partners who were cheating on them with the other.

Honestly, this book uses BDSM and kink to help the three cope with what’s going on. While this book is incredibly emotional, it’s also incredibly sexy, too. There are so many scenes in here that had me blushing. Despite it being the third book in the Beards and Bondage series, these are all interconnected standalone but I do recommend the entire series.

3. Kink Camp: Hunted by A. Anders

I’m not sure if you’re noticing a theme here, but most romance books involving kink are steamy, and thus Kink Camp: Hunted had to make the list. As you might imagine, this follows a kink camp where people get to explore their different kinks. Grace, she’s going along with her bestie to try and unwind while Liev is grieving the loss of his wife. These two meet after she responds to his request for “primal play.”

While these two have more than a few steamy encounters after promising just one, the romance is so incredible. These two are working through a lot of their trauma and baggage, but I really enjoyed this story and can’t wait to read the next in the series.

4. Bright Lights by Katrina Jackson

In 2023, I’ve already read a few steamy romance books, but Bright Lights is an interesting one. This book follows characters we know from the Spies Who Loved Her series which are Chanté and Asif. It’s essentially how they got involved with each other and how they got involved in the Agency’s work.

A decent chunk of Bright Lights takes place in a strip club where Chanté works and Asif is doing a stakeout for a mission. Chanté does eventually dance but it’s more about the connection between these two and the tension is just immaculate. I thought my Kindle was going to catch on fire from how hot this was.

5. Seducing My Guardian by Katee Robert

I couldn’t put together a list of steamy romance books without featuring Katee Robert. There is something about the way Katee Robert writes her steamy scenes that is so hot. I feel like she has cracked the code in writing a good romance, a solid plotline, and incredibly sexy scenes. I decided to go with my favorite read from her Touch of Taboo series.

The book is as the title suggests in which Hazel and her guardian, Devan are about to cease their guardian-ward relationship as she gets her trust fund. She’s secretly wanted him for years so she intends on seducing him and the steam is off-the-charts. This book doesn’t get talked about nearly as much as the others but if you haven’t read it, you need to.

6. ATE by Rilzy Adams

The final book is another short yet steamy read. This is a novella between a woman and the personal chef she hires to celebrate a special occasion. Honestly, I don’t want to get too in-depth about this story as it’s just over 50 pages. Either way, I like it and it was a lot of fun especially for a Valentine’s Day read.

Regardless of how you’re spending Valentine’s Day, you can’t go wrong if you’re picking up a romance. Personally, I’d recommend all of these and if you’re looking for some fun, you could head out and get Praise on Valentine’s Day. Thankfully, the publisher sent me a copy which I greatly appreciate.
