October is finally here which means it’s officially the start of spooky season. It’s also a great time to know what’s streaming especially on Hulu.

Maybe that’s not entirely true, but this is Hulu highlights so you’ll take what you get. Just kidding, but October is poised to be another solid month for Hulu users. In particular, there have already been plenty of new originals added this week.

As someone who loves fall and October, these posts are especially fun as it allows me to plan my spooky watching around basically everything else. Have to work? Oh great, I have a movie to watch after work. Have a day off? That’s great because after I finish all my tasks, then it’s time to turn on Hulu.

If you’re like me and want to know the Hulu highlights for this first week in October, then you’re in luck.

This first round of October Hulu Highlights is spooky and fun.

As with every round, it’s only right, to begin with, the originals. Considering that it’s the start of Huluween, then most of these aren’t surprising. On October 1st, there was Huluween Dragstravaganza while on the 3rd, Solar Opposites released A Sinister Halloween Scary Opposites Solar Special. Moving onto the 5th, Season 1 of Abominable and the Invisible City was added.

The last two originals are all adult-themed including the October 6 release of IMPACT x Nightline along with the 2022 reboot of the classic horror film, Hellraiser on October 7th. All in all, it’s not a bad Halloween haul for the start of October.

However, if you’re looking for movies to watch, then Hulu has you covered. The 1st of the month is always huge for streaming platforms and the company didn’t come to play. Some of the movies added were A River Runs Through It, American Ultra, Blade 1 & 2, Dark Shadows, Fright Night, and The Rocky Horror Picture Show among many others.

Of course, if you’re not in a spooky mood, movies like How to Be Single, Grandma’s Boy, Beerfest, and X-Men were also added. Frankly, there is really no shortage of movies added this week if you’re feeling cinematic.

Last but certainly not least is the TV shows. The major acquisition for Hulu this week was easily the entirety of Schitt’s Creek which has been a Netflix darling for years. However, the platform also added the season premieres of The Good Doctor, Alaska Daily, and Grey’s Anatomy. All in all, this was a good week if you’re planning on using your Hulu subscription.
