What is Amazon Prime’s Early Access Sale?
After a few changes to its annual Prime Day event (due to the COVID-19 pandemic), a second site-wide sale is here. Similar to Black Friday and Cyber Monday, Amazon will now hold a sales event in the fall (Amazon previously held Prime Day 2020 in October due to the COVID-19 pandemic). However, the sale will only be offered to 15 countries (in comparison to over 20 countries that had access to this year’s Prime Day in July).
While it is not confirmed whether the event will be held annually, the new 48-hour event will take place between October 11 at 12 a.m. through Wednesday, October 12 (following the two days format of Amazon Prime). In a similar fashion, it will also be open exclusively to Amazon Prime members. Although not much is known about the discounts that members will find, Jamil Ghani, vice president of Prime, said in an interview that there will be “hundreds of thousands” of deals.
An Amazon Prime membership currently costs $15 a month. This is up from $13 a month). While you can pay $139 annually, Amazon also offers a Prime Student membership. Students can pay $69 a year, up from $59 a year.
While not much is known about the companies that will offer a discount on their products, bestselling product categories in the U.S. during Prime Day included the Apple Watch Series 7, the Bentgo Kids Leak-Proof 5-Compartment Bento-Style Kids Lunch Box, and Crest 3D Teeth Whitestrips.
