The end is here. Well, at least the Season 3 finale of Harley Quinn is here and boy is there a lot to talk about.

Generally, Season 3 of Harley Quinn has been a wild ride but solid. While it does seem like the focus shifted to Harley and Ivy, the show eventually focused more on the others including King Shark and Clayface.

At least we know there is another season on the way now. With all of the recent changes at DC and HBO Max, it’s nice to know that Harley Quinn is safe at least for now. Even if she wasn’t, no doubt the cast and crew of the series would have sent it off with some major pizzazz.

However, we’re not here to talk about that. We’re here to discuss the Season 3 finale of Harley Quinn entitled, “The Horse and the Sparrow” so let’s break it down.

Simply put, the Harley Quinn Season 3 finale was pretty darn great.

Before talking about the finale, there will be spoilers from this point on. If you haven’t caught up yet, you have plenty of time until Season 4 gets released so be sure to get caught up as soon as possible so we can talk about it.

As previously mentioned above, “The Horse and the Sparrow” was a pretty great episode to send off the season. Firstly, we got to see the divide between Harley and Ivy as it’s been teased throughout the entire season. However, it was nice to see Ivy was willing to talk things through and make sure that Harley knew the two will be together despite their differences. It’s obviously a major step up from how Joker treated Harley.

Additionally, we finally got to see the Thomas Wayne movie directed by James Gunn. All in all, it was as over-the-top as it teased. Even though it’s not an actual movie, all of the bluster at DC could make it a reality. It was also cool to see Clayface finally reveal himself and no one cared which is equally parts sad and funny.

As far as Harley’s character, it was nice to see her being praised for doing good but also not knowing how to act amidst everything. It felt incredibly realistic and made the ending of the episode all the more fitting. Not only did Bruce Wayne end up in jail courtesy of the Joker but we also saw Harley become a member of the Bat Family. While it might not be official, it’s completely unexpected.

Then there’s Ivy’s chance at being the new leader of the Legion of the Doom. I almost forgot about that, but it’ll be interesting to see how the storyline plays out in Season 4. Plus there’s the friendship between Batgirl and Harley. While we didn’t see much about King Shark, we’ll hopefully learn more in the upcoming season along with more of Harley and Ivy’s relationship and the tension created by their choices.

Regardless, the finale of Season 3 was pretty awesome in my opinion. Yes, it felt pretty unexpected but there were so many questions answered along with so many questions and storylines to bring into the new season. While I wouldn’t say this is the best season of Harley Quinn, I do feel like the show still has a lot of stories to tell so I’m tentatively excited for Season 4.
