Season 3 of Harley Quinn is swiftly coming to a close. Thus far, the season has been better than fans might have originally imagined.

That’s not to say that Season 3 of Harley Quinn is without its faults. Season 3 has been solid, but some of the storylines and general choices made about the characters haven’t always lined up with what we know and how we picture said characters.

Even so, it’s been incredibly exciting to watch both Harley and Poison Ivy grow together. Things really started to heat up in Season 3, Episode 9, “Climax at Jazzapajizza.” Despite the odd title, it’s surprisingly fitting for the episode.

Ultimately, “Climax at Jazzapajizza” has the ultimate burden of being the episode before the finale and thus needs to help set things up to wrap up the season.

Harley Quinn is setting up for an epic Season 3 finale.

Season 3 of Harley Quinn has been interesting, to say the least. Looking at the previous episode of “Batman Begins Forever,” we watched as Bruce decided to reanimate his dead parents by using Frank, and the events of the episode unfolded from that point. If you aren’t caught up yet, then there will be spoilers for “Climax at Jazzapajizza.”

Obviously, we figure out pretty quickly that Bruce didn’t just bring back his parents. He somehow managed to bring a lot of dead people back because of Frank. Of course, the catch is that they’re all plant zombie hybrids. To try and make things right, Harley teams up with Nightwing and Batgirl while Ivy goes into the green to try and control them.

However, what makes this episode so compelling is that Harley and Ivy actually have a major disagreement during the episode. While Harley and Ivy seem like they’re on the same page, Ivy actually decided to use her powers “for bad” while Harley wanted her to use them to make everything all right for the citizens of Gotham.

What makes the episode though is how the tension plays out. Harley goes to confront Ivy and Ivy isn’t receptive so instead of allowing Nightwing and Batgirl to shoot her, Harley decides to show Ivy the error of her ways by “sacrificing” herself. Harley ends up getting infected and turning into a tree which finally causes Ivy to come to her senses.

Even though the episode seems to resolve all of the issues, there are still some lingering questions that need to be answered in the finale. For me, the major question is if Harley’s actions will have consequences when it comes to Ivy’s feelings. Another major question is how and if King Shark will stay a part of the group. Mostly, I’m just curious to see how the show is going to tackle Ivy’s character moving forward.

Either way, “Climax at Jazzapajizza” was a solid episode and honestly felt like it wrapped up a little too nicely. Even with that being said, I do think it’s going to bode well for an intense and dramatic finale for Season 3. No matter what though, I’m super excited to see how Season 3 of Harley Quinn wraps up.

The Season 3 finale of Harley Quinn airs on HBO Max on September 15th, 2022.
