Toys “R” Us is coming back in a new way
While it is a limited-time comeback for the toy retailer, it is one that will not disappoint. Locations will feature life-size “Geoffrey on a Bench” photo opportunities for families and hands-on demonstrations for new generations of toy lovers.
Locations with the instore retailer will include Macy’s at Lenox Square in Atlanta; State Street in Chicago; Ala Moana in Honolulu; Memorial City in Houston; South Coast Plaza in Los Angeles; Aventura and Dadeland in Miami; Herald Square and Roosevelt Field in New York City; Union Square in San Francisco and Valley Fair in San Jose.
However, it’s not a problem if you don’t live in or near these locations. You will be able to buy Toys “R” Us toys in all Macy’s stores between October 15-23. The nine days will feature events and giveaways from Barbie and Lego (with multiple more brands expected to be announced). Each toyshop will range from 1,000 to 10,000 square feet. However, Macy’s is reporting that square footage might increase closer to the holiday season.
Macy’s and Toys “R” Us first announced their partnership in August 2021. Their collaboration also includes the addition of Toys “R” Us products to their website. Since the addition, they have seen a 15% increase in toy sales.
While Toys “R” Us liquidated its stores in bankruptcy in March 2018, it shut all locations by June 2018. It will be the first time that lovers of the brand and toy lovers will be able to visit the product in person in years. Will you be one of them?
