Roswell New Mexico sees a shift in power for our favorite aliens
The fifth episode of Roswell New Mexico‘s final season was one filled with revelations, memories, and some surprising power moves. From one alien gaining new powers to another seemingly losing his, this was a rollercoaster of an episode that left us reeling.
Not only did we see Max struggling with being honest with Liz about what was going on with him, but we also saw Michael doing his part to both be part of his own group and infiltrate the new aliens group. We saw Dallas struggling with his own training when it comes to how to use his alien powers and of course, there was Maria coming to terms with her gifts being silenced in the efforts to save her life.
Basically, “You Get What You Give” was an episode filled with struggles and a push toward answers. And yet, it doesn’t feel like we really got any new answers beyond the fact that Max seems to be the key to what this new triad of aliens wants.
At this point, Alex is still missing and no one knows it. Michael is sick. Max has a new power that allows him to channel blue flames. And Isobel and Kyle are being reminded that they are an amazing team!
Roswell proves that we have to expect the unexpected when it comes to alien powers
Perhaps the best thing to happen in this entire episode was finally seeing Kyle admit to Isobel that he thinks she is beautiful and then seeing them kiss for the first time in a move that was initiated by Isobel. It was like we were finally getting the start of a duo that could become a power couple in the future.
And maybe it is just us, but we want to see these two come together and prove that they can be a dynamic duo as a romance. It would be nice to see our original three aliens find happiness before the end of the series. And at this point, it certainly looks like at least one couple is working towards that (looking at you Max and Liz). While Michael is working towards his own happiness, he doesn’t even know that his boyfriend is MIA.
Basically, we want this romance as much as we want to see Dallas find his own happiness and the other two aliens get theirs. If the end is near (we know it is but we really want a last-minute save for Roswell), we want it to end with a happy bang.
But of course, first, we have to get through the aliens trying to use Max and even Michael to get back to their home planet (or whatever it is they have planned).
We want to know what you thought of this episode of Roswell. Were you happy to see Kyle and Isobel finally having a true moment? Are you as worried about Alex and Michael as we are? What do you think will happen with Max’s new powers?
