The Hills is back with the next generation.

After The Hills had new beginnings almost a decade after the initial series ended in June 2010, the series is back with a new cast. MTV promises a new cast set in the city of Los Angeles (Malibu to be exact). Here is what is known so far.

What will come from The Hills reboot?

The first reboot of the show came in 2019. The show, titled The Hills: New Beginnings, lasted two seasons and included much of the original cast. Members included Audrina Patridge, Brody Jenner, Hedi Montag, Spencer Pratt, Whitney Port, Justin “Bobby” Brescia, Stephanie Pratt, and Jason Wahler.

Kristin Cavallari, who took over as lead when Lauren Conrad left the series, chose not to make a return. Conrad, a cast member for five seasons, also decided not to make a return.

According to the network, “the series will follow a close group of twenty-something friends and aspiring entrepreneurs who are coming of age in a very different L.A. They will navigate realities of race, class, identity, addiction, family drama along with the thrills of romance and becoming self-made amidst the exclusive enclave of the hills in Malibu.”

The reiteration of the show is part of a new set of reboots for MTV. The network announced on May 18 that Jersey Shore would also be getting a reboot. The show will also follow the lives of a new cast living in the Shore house that made the likes of Snooki, Pauly D, and Vinny Guadagnino famous.

Jersey Shore 2.0 will be the second reboot of the show that ran for six seasons from 2009 to 2012. The first reboot, Jersey Shore: Family Vacation, aired in 2017 with most of its original members. Sammi “Sweetheart” Giancola was the only member not to make an appearance.

There is no air date for Jersey Shore 2.0 or The Hills: Next Gen as of this writing.
