Actress, singer, businesswoman, and activist Selena Gomez is advocating during Mental Health Awareness Month. Throughout the month of May, Gomez is utilizing her roles in the Serendipity and Rare Fund Impact brands to make a positive difference.

Serendipity is an ice cream brand, with many of the flavors being pop culture references. In addition, Gomez, a company co-owner, has her own ice cream flavor on the menu, Cookies & Cream Remix.

Meanwhile, Gomez’s skincare brand, Rare Beauty, launched in 2020, along with the Rare Impact Fund. The company is committed to providing people with the resources needed to support their mental health. The company’s focus includes expanding access to mental health services in educational environments and underserved communities. One percent of Rare Beauty’s revenues are contributed to the Rare Impact Fund.

The Rare Impact Fund’s goal is to raise over one million dollars in ten years to help address the gaps in mental health services and education.

Throughout May, Gomez is merging her passion for both brands with her desire to bring attention to mental health services and accessibility. During Mental Health Awareness Month, Serendipity is showing its support for the cause by partnering with the Rare Impact Fund.

For the month, Serendipity will donate one dollar to the Rare Impact Fund for every ice cream pint and product sold.

Selena Gomez spoke out about the decision:

"“Bringing awareness to mental health is something very personal to me,” said Gomez “I am so proud that Serendipity Brands has committed to supporting the Rare Impact Fund and helping people gain much needed access to mental health resources.”"

However, Selena Gomez is not the only one excited about the opportunity and cause of the initiative.

"“During the month of May, our customers will not just enjoy our ice cream, but they’ll also be part of supporting such an important cause, ” said Bob Gorman, CEO of Serendipity Brands. “We couldn’t be more grateful to Selena for inspiring this partnership and bringing together two of her brands to do good and create a meaningful, long-term impact.”"

Elyse Cohen, VP of Social Impact & Inclusion at Rare Beauty and President of the Rare Impact Fund, stated:

"“We’re so proud of the work we’ve accomplished since the launch of the Rare Impact Fund in 2020. We have incredible brand partners that have supported our mission and we are thrilled that Serendipity Brands is walking alongside us as we work toward providing people access to the resources they need to support their mental health. The funds raised in May through the sale of Serendipity ice cream pints will directly benefit our grant partners delivering critical mental health services and education.”"

To participate in the initiative throughout Mental Health Awareness Month, Serendipity products can be purchased on SerendipityBrands.com, Gopuff, and Amazon.
