Riverdale is back in action after its midseason hiatus and a wacky alternate Rivervale timeline. The second half of season six is following the aftermath of Hiram Lodge’s bomb, with plenty of tragic moments as well as mysterious superpowers emerging.

Last week’s episode saw more drama unfold at the hands of Percival Pickens, Riverdale’s new supervillain whose insidious mind-control powers seem to be wreaking havoc and threatening relationships.

Riverdale is no stranger to peculiar storylines, and this season’s dive into the overtly supernatural is no exception. As Cheryl returns to herself, how she will fit into the larger disputes in Riverdale remains to be seen.

According to the preview above, Archie will also square off against Percival in a boxing match. While Archie is now invincible, Percival likely has plenty of tricks up his sleeves to make it a dangerous fight for Archie (though not as dangerous as when he fought the bear).

This week’s preview also shows another surprising mystery to come — “spontaneous human combustion.” Of course, the most pressing question is who combusted. As always with Riverdale, you’ll have to tune in to see what shocking thing happens next.
