In the penultimate episode of Riverdale’s Rivervale event, it was all about Cheryl Blossom for a change. Even if Cheryl, wasn’t always Cheryl.

It was one of the more bizarre storylines of the Rivervale event (and that’s saying something), as episode 4 gave us the truth of Cheryl Blossom. Cheryl isn’t Cheryl. Cheryl is a woman named Abigail, but at the same time, she is also Poppyseed.

Cheryl Blossom is the ultimate Blossom woman. She has been around since the Civil War when she was cursed by a Warlock to an eternity of loneliness and loss. And while we have no idea how this Rivervale event will have an impact on Riverdale as a whole, this entire storyline was not only bizarre, but it weirdly made sense.

But we don’t care if any of this episode made sense. And why don’t we care? Because for once, Riverdale showed Cheryl the love that she has been denied. For once, we got an episode that was all about the Blossom woman we love and adore.

Riverdale needed to head to Rivervale to give Cheryl the spotlight she deserves.

Throughout the first five seasons of Riverdale, there have been amazing moments with Cheryl Blossom. She has repeatedly proven that with only a few minutes she can shine. But with the arrival of this Twilight Zone version of Riverdale, we finally got an entire episode that was all about this strong Blossom woman.

The problem is, what happens after Rivervale is over? Do we go back to this real-world where Cheryl is relegated to the sidelines? Do we get episodes where Cheryl only gets a few minutes of the spotlight?

Maybe it’s just me, but I want this episode to prove that even if Betty or Veronica is MIA, we still have a strong woman who can carry the show. Because if anyone can bring us back for more it is Cheryl.

But what do you think? Were you excited for a Cheryl-centric episode of Riverdale? Do you think this will be a good thing for us in future episodes? We want to know.
