Selma Blair

As an actress, Selma Blair has been in a number of iconic roles. But perhaps it is not her acting that has made her an icon. Instead, it is as much her advocacy work as it is her openness with her health.

In 2018, Blair revealed to the world that she was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis (MS), giving the disease a recognizable face. She would then go on to walk red carpets with her cane in hand as a reminder that no matter what a person is facing, there is still a life to be lived.

But of course, being open about her MS is not the only thing that makes Selma Blair a woman who is making history in her own way. There is also her advocacy work and dedication to a wide variety of charities.

Among the charities that Blair has supported we have,

  • No Kid Hungry
  • Children’s Action Network
  • AmFAR AIDS Research
  • Marc Jacobs’ Skin Cancer Awareness Campaign
  • The National Multiple Sclerosis Society

And the fact that this is just a small handful of the programs, organizations, and foundations that she supports and helps makes her someone we can’t help but admire and look up to.
