Selma Blair inspired with her Oscars appearance and first time out since MS diagnosis

In October, Selma Blair revealed that she had been diagnosed with MS. And on entertainment’s biggest night, the actress stepped out for an inspiring first appearance at the Vanity Fair Oscars Party.

There were many inspirational moments on Oscars night, both during the awards ceremony and after. And perhaps one of the more inspiring came at the Vanity Fair Oscars Party, when Selma Blair made her first appearance since she revealed her MS diagnosis last year.

Dressed in a stunning multi-colored dress of pale pink, mint green, icy blue, and black, the actress also debuted a cane that has been personalized for her with her own monogram, according to People Magazine. And over on Instagram, Blair made it clear that the cane is a symbol of love for her, as she explained that she had wanted a very special cane for her Oscars night, and some special people helped to make that happen for her.

With this being her first night on the town since the diagnosis, we don’t blame her for wanting something special. And thanks to three individuals that she called angels, her special cane was designed, including specially stitched patent leather and even a pink diamond.

Seeing her on the Vanity Fair red carpet was an inspiring moment for all of us, as it showed us all that Selma Blair is a true fighter. She is not going to let her MS diagnosis keep her down. Instead, she dressed up in a stunning gown, grabbed her cane, and came to make a statement.

It is people like Blair who remind us that life may try to knock us down, but we all have an inner fire that tells us we need to fight. And as the actress has said, “Life is an adventure with many shards of awakening.”

There may be bad days and nights, but clearly the actress is not going to let them keep her from living her life. What better time to shine than at the Oscars or specifically at the Vanity Fair Oscars Party? With all eyes on the stars, Selma Blair was one of the brightest, at least in my eyes.

From the caped gown to the cane, Blair was perfection. And it was ultimately another highlight from a relatively magical Hollywood night. In fact, it gave us hope that we would get to see more of the actress in the future, as she is still one of our shining stars.
