Greta Thunberg

If you have been paying any attention to the climate crisis and activists stepping up to make the issues our planet is facing known over the last few years, then you have most likely heard of Greta Thunberg. Since her first introduction to a global audience, Thunberg has been challenging world leaders to do better and be more cognizant of the impact we are having on the Earth.

Officially, she is considered a leader in the activism space, even if she is also a target for criticism by those who think she is too young to speak her mind. But even with the critics on her case, she has continued to make an impact in the world, with many organizations and publications honoring her for her work and activism.

Among the honors that she has received are the TIME Person of the Year (one of the youngest ever), one of TIME’s 100 Most Influential People, and even inclusion in the Forbes list of The World’s 100 Most Powerful Women. And that doesn’t even take into account the fact that she has been nominated three times for a Nobel Peace Prize. (While she may not have won any of these nominations she is definitely our winner.)

When I think of climate change and the movement to be more mindful of the planet and the impact we have on the world, it is definitely Greta Thunberg who comes to mind. And she is truly an inspiration as an activist who speaks her mind no matter who she is facing.
