Michelle Obama

There are a lot of reasons why Michelle Obama might be considered a woman making history. But at the top of the list is the fact that she was officially the first-ever African-American woman to serve as the First Lady of the United States. And yet, that is far from the only reason she is on our list of women making history.

With her status as First Lady, she worked hard as an advocate for a number of important causes, in particular nutrition awareness, poverty awareness, the importance of healthy eating and exercise, as well as improving education.

Even after leaving the White House, Michelle Obama has continued her efforts to make improvements in the world and that has been reflected in the fact that she is often at the top of lists of influential people or fascinating individuals. And as part of the 2020 election, she lent her voice alongside Stacey Abrams to encourage residents of Georgia to get out and vote in the runoff vote that took place for the U.S. Senate election.

While Obama has made it clear that she has no desire to run for President or really throw her hat in the political ring, that doesn’t mean that she doesn’t lend her voice when it is needed. She has proven that even after her time in the White House, she is willing to step up and speak out.
