Nancy Drew sets the stage for a devastating Season 3 finale

It’s been building up to this moment for three seasons. Nancy Drew is finally going to have a showdown for the soul of Horseshoe Bay. But it is not just Horseshoe Bay that Nancy and the Drew Crew have to save – it is also Ace himself.

The penultimate episode of Season 3, “The Witch Tree Symbol,” was all about the highs and lows. Unfortunately, it was mostly lows as Nancy broke up with Park, took a Hex upon herself to save a group of children, Ned broke down and is set to abandon everyone because of his perceived failures, someone died, and we learned who has the final piece of Charity’s soul.

And yes, the final piece of soul is in none other than Ace. This means that Ace is set to be killed in the Season 3 finale if Nancy Drew can’t do what she does best and save the day.

Throughout this episode of Nancy Drew, we watched the entire Drew Crew racing around to save lives and figure out what Temperance Hudson had in store for Horseshoe Bay. And yet, they kept failing. Sure, they were able to save the children from the Hex, but that was the extent of what they were able to do positively.

Everything else was a disaster. Not only did they almost lose someone via stabbing, but they weren’t able to save the third person with a piece of soul. Instead, Park arrived after the Copperhead had already removed the victim’s heart, leaving him dead in the woods.

And of course, that also meant that this activated the visions of the fourth person – Ace. After Ace wakes up from a dream of the Civil War, in a panic and realizing that he is next, it becomes clear that in the Season 3 finale, Nancy Drew is setting the stage for us to be truly devastated.
