Will Joe Jonas-led DNCE finally get the respect it deserves?

Imagine it’s 2015. You turn on the radio, “Cake By The Ocean” by this new band DNCE is playing. Life is much more simpler. Fast-forward to 2022 and the song is still being played on the radio but, what’s to make of the band?

Most people know of DNCE because of its frontman Joe Jonas. Rightfully so, as Joe Jonas is ⅓ of the Jonas Brothers plus he’s super talented and super attractive. Personal opinion aside, Jonas started the band with friends after a somewhat unsuccessful solo career. With members Jack Lawless, Cole Whittle, and JinJoo Lee, the band became a new chapter for everyone involved.

DNCE gave us a fun and poppy sound that we had yet to see again from Jonas. However, the band never seemed to blow up like other acts Jonas was a part of.

Even now with the potential of a DNCE reunion, fans aren’t clamoring as they were when the Jonas Brothers reunited. However, 2022 should finally be the time where DNCE gets its time in the sun and is appreciated.

Will 2022 finally give us a DNCE reunion and the appreciation the band deserves?

Let’s back up for just one second. If you’re wondering where this is coming from, no worries. There is one major theory to discuss. Recently, Joe Jonas posted a TikTok in which he was trainspotting with a friend, and music was used during the clip. Shortly after, the official DNCE account commented and fans went bananas. Theories and ideas began pouring in about the song potentially being a new release from the band.

Of course, there is no confirmation on if this is true or not. Considering the Jonas Brothers have taken a small hiatus since the “Remember This” tour though, it could happen. For fans of the band, this is more than exciting. For those who didn’t gravitate towards Nick’s more hip-hop sound, Joe offered an alternative with DNCE.

However, Joe isn’t the only one worth noting in the band. Lawless, who is also part of the Jonas Brothers band, is the band’s drummer and a longtime friend of the Jonases. Coupled with Cole on bass guitar and JinJoo also on guitar, the band is a delightful mix. As the only girl in the group, JinJoo really completes the quartet and she’s just iconic.

Overall, the major reason why it feels like DNCE never got to the iconic status of the Jonas Brothers was that the sound was so different. Even so, the band managed to cultivate legions of, fans and hopefully, they’ll get even more in 2022. Considering the band only released one album and few EPs during its tenure, it’s finally time to get more DNCE music.

Looking back at their self-titled album, this one has multiple bangers including the band’s most popular hit, “Cake By The Ocean.” There are songs focused on love, having fun, and not giving an F. It’s the perfect album to play when you’re having a party as a lot of the songs make you want to dance.

While the band only released one album, it’s finally time for them to reunite and give us some new music. DNCE is so different from the Jonas Brothers and no doubt fans of the DNCE are excited to see what the band’s going to do next.
