Zachary Levi gives Chuck fans a reason to be excited
Zachary Levi, star of Chuck, Shazam, and American Underdog, recently sat down with Michael Rosenbaum (Smallville) for his Inside of You Podcast. Unsurprisingly, the subject of Chuck, the spy-action-comedy series that Levi starred in for five seasons came up. Anyone that is a fan of the series knows how long all fans have been begging for a movie to better wrap up the series as the finale was open-ended.
Chuck ended in 2012 after 91 episodes, with Sarah Bartowski, Chuck’s wife, having lost her memory. Though the couple kissing at the end of the final episode as it supposedly helped restore memories, we didn’t see if Sarah’s memory was restored. And that was a big issue for a lot of fans.
Levi hasn’t stopped thinking about and trying to get a movie underway. he said he was thinking about a movie before the series even ended, and, as it turns out, it looks like the wheels are starting to turn. Levi said he feels like the time is nigh.
"“I’ve had some very good, promising conversations with the creators, Josh Schwartz and Chris Fedak, and we had a really lovely get-together and catch-up.”"
Levi went on to talk about the Chuck Table Read that the actors of the series held back in 2020. The entire cast got together to reenact season three’s episode nine, and even the guest actors made an appearance. All of the actors were just as into their parts as they were almost twelve years ago when the episode was filmed.
Levi did specify that he didn’t know if this was an official announcement, but he said “I think we’re close to making something happen which I’m super excited about.” He couldn’t possibly be more excited than the fans! We’ve been waiting for this movie because of our love for this comedy-action series that made an unlikely nerd super-spy.
