Childhood Christmases was filled with baking cookies, opening an abundance of gifts nestled under the tree, that two-week vacation from school, and watching the snowfall if you were lucky enough to reside in a town where snow came every winter.  There were also family visits, big holiday dinners, and walking around shopping malls to admire the Christmas decor and toys.

As adults, the holidays can be a mentally straining time as well as exhausting.  Our families might not be together, work might be going into overtime, or that perfect gift that we’d like to get for that special someone in our life just might be out of stock or unattainable.  Yet, despite the holiday hulls, we tend to find some cheer.  These days, TV, online sessions, and social media seem to be one definition of cheer.

We occasionally reflect on our childhoods for guidance and nostalgia.  Although we can’t reverse time to go back, we can bring back some of the Christmas memories by watching our favorite specials growing up.

That should ignite some cheer within us.

Christmas specials were always a fun break in between the chaos that ensued during the season. They were filled with favorite characters, music, and a message.  Yet, the messages were not always clear because as kids, we didn’t understand them quite yet.  As we grew up and went through life, the messages rang with clarity and meaning of just how important life is as a whole.

To reduce the stress and revisit our childhoods, here are six specials that deserve an adult rewatch.
