After the first season in its new time jump reality, Riverdale has returned with its sixth season in a five-episode crossover “Rivervale” event that brings Greendale’s own Sabrina Spellman to town.

Last week’s episode saw the devil himself, Mr. Lou Cypher, come to town to claim multiple souls including Kevin and Jughead’s while taking Reggie straight to hell. The body count in Rivervale keeps climbing higher and higher, so let’s see what potential mayhem lies in store for this week.

Per IMDB the official synopsis for this week’s episode, “Chapter Ninety-Nine: The Witching Hour(s),” reads:

"As Bailey’s Comet passes over Rivervale, Cheryl and Nana Rose revisit the tragic stories of the Blossom women through the years. Meanwhile, the once-in-a-lifetime celestial event prompts Cheryl to summon a familiar face to Rivervale – Sabrina Spellman."

After Cheryl’s absence from last week’s episode, it looks like this week will be a Cheryl-centric episode and we’ll finally see the much-hyped and anticipated return of Sabrina to our screens.

With Cheryl’s singular focus on her ancestry and returning Rivervale to its glory days, it remains to be seen how Sabrina will complicate matters. The official preview for this week’s episode gives us another look at what’s coming next:

The preview does hint at a pre-existing relationship between Cheryl and Sabrina which raises a lot of questions. When did they first meet? Did Sabrina train Cheryl in the ways of witchcraft? Can Sabrina undo the damage that has unfolded in Rivervale? As always, you’ll have to tune in to find out.
