Mark Consuelos departs Riverdale after four seasons
Mark Consuelos, who starred as an evil crime boss syndicate, and Veronica’s dad, Hiram Lodge, will be departing Riverdale after four seasons.
About time that he did as Hiram was becoming more vicious in each episode.
Consuelos reflected on his four-season tenure and experience about playing such a villainous role.

For his four-season run, Hiram was the epitome of the money-hungry, mad-with-power bad guy who had the obsessed desire to destroy Riverdale and has an infliction with Archie Andrews. For the latter, it may have something to do with being her former boyfriend, but it must run deeper.
Season 5 Wrap-Up (contains spoilers)
In the season five finale of the teen drama, Veronica kicks Hiram out of Riverdale after finding incriminating evidence that connected and proves him as a murderer and for trying to destruct the town for so many years. Before he left permanently, he planted a bomb under Archie’s bed as if getting his revenge. The bomb did explode, but there are high hopes that Archie and Betty got out in time, albeit that it was only a matter of seconds.
On a lighter note, Archie and Betty finally got together after five years (in seasonal time), and that softens the harsh and dramatic themes of the finale.
Since there seems to be not enough drama on this show, Cheryl unearths a family secret under Thronhill that involves the ancestors of Archie, Betty, and Jughead. Cheryl is angry and separates her home from the reincorporation of Riverdale. Additionally, with this supernatural twist (as she read a curse from her ancestor), it’ll weave in Sabrina Spellman, a young witch who comes to the town next season.
It appears that Riverdale and its citizens are finally healing from the past, but we have to wait until next month to see the official rebuilding and whether Barchie is okay.
Darn that Hiram for ruining things.
