He’s back, baby! First look at Peacemaker series coming to HBO Max

Peacemaker is on his way back to HBO Max! The eight-episode series starring John Cena released a brand new poster promoting what’s bound to be a show full of carnage. Are you ready for freedom and justice at any cost?

So what do we know about this series so far? Pretty much the only thing we know for certain is that John Cena is starring, James Gunn wrote the show during his downtime and it’s set after the events of The Suicide Squad.

When we last saw Christopher Smith a.k.a Peacemaker, he was laying in a hospital bed, being observed by two of Amanda Waller’s employees. Surviving a bullet to the neck and a tower crumbling on top of him, this America-loving psychopath will likely be helping Waller on her continued missions.

It shows Peacemaker showing off a peace sign as he drives away in what appears to be Washington state. The car has clearly seen better days as it’s filled with bullet holes and covered in rust. It comes with a promise though – more information about the show will be coming to fans on October 16th during DC Fandome!

I have mixed feelings about the show. For one, I love that Cena is so excited about the character. He wore his costume all throughout the media junket for The Suicide Squad. Plus he really excels in the part and he was fun to watch.

Peacemaker is a huge bastard though. He killed Rick Flagg and almost killed Ratcatcher II, we can’t have him not coming to some sort of justice for that. A tower falling on him and a bullet to the neck is justice enough, some may argue. I disagree!

Either way, I’m looking forward to hearing more about what this toilet-seat-head is up to now that he’s out of the ICU.
