Omono Okojie promoted to series regular for Legacies Season 4
As Legacies prepares to enter its fourth season, the series has promoted a major supporting character. Cleo Sowande, portrayed by Omono Okojie, has officially been elevated to a series regular.
Okojie first appeared on Legacies during the season 3 episode, “To Whom It May Concern,” when the Salvatore students are trying to encourage others to enroll at the institution. Cleo was one of the members to join the Salvatore School, but each subsequent episode suggested she had a bigger secret and role than just another student.
Eventually, Legacies revealed that Cleo did have a bigger arc and history. She is actually a Muse and holds the gift of inspiring others. “One Day You Will Understand” gave viewers a deeper look into Cleo’s past, as she reveals to Alaric, Kaleb, and Josie the horrors of her history with Malivore.
The last that viewers see of Cleo, she has been absorbed by Malivore and is wandering through a mysterious doorway in the dark abyss. But everyone’s memories of Cleo were returned by Hope. The final moments of “Fate’s a Bitch, Isn’t It” show that everyone is ready to save their friends from Malivore.
Promoting Okojie to a series regular opens opportunities to develop Cleo as a character beyond what viewers have seen of her thus far.
Cleo wishes to be rid of Malivore, and with her knowledge from spending time with him, she may be someone who can help come up with a way to defeat the show’s most consistent villain. But, first, she needs to reunite with everyone else.
Cleo, as a Muse, is a different type of supernatural character that had been added to The Vampire Diaries universe. She also holds the potential to have a romantic connection with Kaleb and a close friendship with Hope, which has the chance to be explored more throughly with this move to series regular status.
