What exactly is Alex Manes up to on Roswell?

Roswell New Mexico is back for its third season on The CW. And with it comes a lot of questions and plenty of drama already. But we currently have one very big question.

What exactly is Alex Manes up to?

We already know that over the course of the year that we did not see (thank you time jump), Alex was off trying to rectify the problems that his father left behind with Project Shepherd. At the same time, it seems that he was also trying to discover whatever he could about the aliens and the Roswell crash. But what exactly does all of this mean?

No really. What does this mean? What is Alex doing?

Alex Manes is back in Roswell and he has something up his sleeve

In the first episode of season 3, Alex learns that his boyfriend (I guess this title applies) has joined a secret organization called Deep Sky. And that’s not all, as it sounds like the secret organization wants Alex Manes.

Fast forward to episode two, which seems to be happening just 24 hours after said boyfriend leaves Roswell, and all of a sudden we have Alex being tested and inevitably putting everything together to become a member of Deep Sky.

At first it seemed like Alex wanted nothing to do with this group, but now he is a member and trying to solve some mystery box. We need to know what exactly Alex is up to with this. And considering his alien friendships and love, what does this have to do with his year long search for answers.

But perhaps the biggest question is do any of the aliens (Max, Isobel, and Max) know what he is doing in his spare time? And do they approve? With everything going on, it seems highly unlikely that they know what Alex is up to, but we hope they do.
