PlayStation Plus members are usually in for a treat when it comes to the latest monthly offerings of free games. July was a quieter month of offerings, and August seems to be following suit.

Which isn’t a bad thing, because plenty of good things wait on the horizon.

Below are your free games for the month of August:

  • Hunter’s Arena: Legends
  • Plants vs. Zombies: Battle for Neighborville
  • Tennis World Tour 2

As always, the official announcement trailer from PlayStation Access:

First up is your PlayStation 5 offering for the month, Hunter’s Arena: Legends. Making its debut on the PS5 in August (it’s been a Steam Early Access title since last July), PS Plus subscribers will have full access to this brawler-style battle royale. Choose from 17 different playable hunters.

For the non-PS5 owning subscribers, your first game is Plants vs. Zombies: Battle for Neighborville. This is most definitely a lighthearted game for the month, and if you’re a fan of this series, you’ll definitely want to down this.

Plants Vs. Zombies: Battle for Neighborville isn’t anything glamorous or new to the franchise, but its varying cast of playable and supporting characters make the PVE and PVP options much more fun. The PVE campaigns definitely become repetitive after a time, and the PVP (including six different modes and a co-op tower defense mode) can be chaotic and hard to follow, but the charm of the characters makes it worth it, honestly.

Last up is Tennis World Tour 2, the standard sports offering that we don’t always get with this subscription. The good thing about this game is that it’s such an accurate representation of actual tennis matches that you could honestly invite your tennis-loving friend over just to watch you play this game.

The down side for this game is that it’s not very user-friendly for new players. There’s a timing-based learning curve that gets many players, but long-playing fans of the series won’t have any issues.
