Matt Damon confirms cameo in Thor: Love and Thunder and it’s exactly what you think
By Erin Lynch
The truth is out folks. Matt Damon is going to be in the upcoming Marvel sequel Thor: Love and Thunder. The actor confirmed it during a recent interview and it’s exactly what you think it is.
While on SiriusXM Radio, the host asked Damon point-blank if he was making an appearance in the upcoming Thor movie (calling it the new Loki movie) reprising his role as “Actor Loki”. The Hollywood veteran smirked and the host quickly tried to cover his tracks by apologizing if it was a secret.
“I don’t know if it’s a secret,” Damon admitted. “But everybody knows that I went down there to shoot.” He noted that the paparazzi had snapped photos of him on set. “People sussed out what we were doing,” he said. “We were reprising a cameo that Luke Hemsworth and I did in the last one.”

Though he did leave things on a fairly exciting note, after saying how much fun they had on set. Director and writer Taika Waititi had them come in for the joke and “upgrad[ed] it a bit”. Upgrade you say? Would that maybe include some exploits of Loki in the TVA? Or perhaps accidentally killing “actor Loki”? Who knows!
The moment in Thor: Ragnarok was such a fun surprise, really. As if seeing Matt Damon as Loki wasn’t funny enough, having star Chris Hemsworth’s younger brother Luke play the God of Thunder in a play? Priceless. Honestly.
There is going to be so, so much in this film and I don’t think any fan of the franchise is going to be disappointed. Waititi already promised it was going to be nutty and with actors like Russell Crowe playing Zeus? We all know it’s going to be one hell of a ride.
The only part I’m nervous about is that we give Jane Foster the respect she deserves. With so much going on, it may be bogged down. I choose to believe The Mighty Thor will have all her time to shine in the sun.
