YouTube Channel: Marcie

Name: Marcie DeFeo

Location: Boston, MA

Marcie, who is bisexual, has also been reacting for about five years now, with some of her top shows being Wynonna Earp, Orphan Black, and Killing Eve. Possibly one of the biggest Earpers on YouTube, Marcie frequently held viewing parties with her friends while watching the supernatural Western series.

“The first show I reacted to was Wynonna Earp and it is still my favorite. It’s funny, emotional, campy, unexpected–there’s just so much to react to,” she said. She started reacting as a way to meet people who had similar pop culture interests.

“I started reacting because I loved, and still love, watching reaction videos and it seemed like a fun way to connect with new people over things I enjoyed by no one else around me wanted to talk about. I never thought I’d still be doing this five years later, but some of the reactions I’ve gotten from fellow fans on how reactions have affected their lives was a thing I wasn’t expecting and has really made me want to keep going,” Marcie stated.

When not creating reactions, Marcie works in the television news industry as an assistant director and director of news shows and sports programs. She’s also a licensed physical therapist assistant who, pre-pandemic, was working in the school system with kids from kindergarten to high school.

Marcie’s deadpan humor is evident in nearly every video she creates, but particularly in her reaction to Wynonna Earp‘s “Gonna Getcha Good” episode at the beginning of season two. Y’know, the one with Waverly (Dominique Provost-Chalkley) wearing her old cheerleading uniform for Nicole (Kat Barrell).
