The Circle season 2 player: Lisa/Lance
Maybe I’m just residually angry at Lisa for not being her real-life boss Lance Bass, but she’s also not terribly good at this game and wasn’t a lot of fun to watch. Whether or not the decision to catfish as a pop star hurt her is unclear. It seems as though no one would have ever given Lance Bass $100,000 because he’s already rich, but instead of leaning into that as an automatic reason for basically everyone to take her to the finals, Lisa made a weird excuse about using the money to mount an NSYNC reunion tour.
Throughout her brief time on the season, Lisa was generally an afterthought, and the fact that she got a second chance to make it to the end with Jack in their co-piloted catfish named John is frustrating. I mean, if you can’t make it to the end on a second chance, armed with a partner and an existing knowledge base about them that the people you’re playing against don’t know you possess, well, what are you even doing here?
Weirdly enough, however, I like Lisa a lot more playing the made-up persona of John the psychic more than I ever did when she was pretending to be Lance.
