Most of the conversation surrounding Zack Snyder’s upcoming projects has been centered on HBO Max’s release of Zack Snyder’s Justice League next month. However, the director has another project heading our way this spring, and Army of the Dead looks like a film you’ll want to add to your Netflix queue ASAP — at least if the movie’s new trailer is anything to judge by.

Although the official trailer doesn’t reveal much in the way of plot details about the zombie heist movie — like why, for instance, anyone would attempt a heist in a Las Vegas that’s chock full of zombies in the first place — it does present some action-packed footage and a catchy score.

It also gives fans a first look at the movie’s ensemble cast, which includes the likes of Dave Bautista, Ella Purnell, Omari Hardwick, Matthias Schweighöfer, Ana De La Reguera, Theo Rossi, Hiroyuki Sanada, Nora Arnezeder, Garret Dillahunt, and Tig Notaro.

Looking at the new footage, the group of mercenaries looks competent and capable enough to pull of a heist — though whether the zombies will stand in their way remains to be seen. The final moments of the trailer also suggest we’ll be getting plenty of witty banter from the gang as they make their way past the undead. Hopefully, the levity won’t get any of them killed in the process.

Zombie fans won’t want to miss out on this interesting addition to the genre, which Guardians of the Galaxy star Bautista told Empire there needed to be “something special about” to join. It may be too soon to say it definitively, but Snyder’s new project definitely seems unique enough to qualify as a “special” addition to the genre. Let’s hope it lives up to the hype.
