Riverdale’s Vanessa Morgan is officially a mom!
Actress Vanessa Morgan, who plays Toni Topaz on The CW’s Riverdale, has given birth to a baby boy. Though very few details have been given surrounding the birth, sources reportedly told E! News that Vanessa and her estranged husband, Chicago White Sox pitcher Michael Kopech, are “both thrilled” about the arrival of their new son.
Since announcing her pregnancy on Instagram back in July, the actress has shared snippets of her journey on her Instagram page.
When she first revealed the big news, Morgan shared her thoughts on becoming a mother, writing:
"“I am overjoyed to be welcoming my baby boy into the world this January 💙 It’s almost like everything I thought mattered in this life has completely changed. We’re here for such a greater purpose and life is so precious.”"

In December, she also shared a behind-the-scenes photo of herself, cradling her belly. The Instagram post came right as she was beginning her maternity leave, after working for nine months while pregnant. Here is the sweet snap:
The Riverdale producers and its showrunner, Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa, made accommodations for the new mom and even incorporated her pregnancy into the fifth season. She worked nearly her full term, which must have created a memorable experience on set.
“Feeling grateful to my showrunner & producers for being so accommodating & writing my pregnancy into the show!” Morgan wrote on Instagram. How her pregnancy will factor into Toni’s story remains to be seen, though with Riverdale season five currently airing, we’ll soon have an answer.
In one instance, Toni is seen dancing with snakes — which will evidently happen sometime in season five. Morgan shared a preview of the scene to Instagram writing that she “can’t wait to show” her son what she was up to before he was born:
