Eli Brown as Otto “Obie” Bergmann IV

Obie’s caption is “Privilege.” We smell trouble with this one. He’s the fourth in a line of Bergmann men, which speaks to a dynasty or an empire of riches. Obie’s a legacy, clearly, and possibly not nouveau riche. Though that doesn’t mean he has to be spoiled, even though he most likely is.

We’re also speculating that Obie’s closest ties may be with Max and Julien. Seconds of video tell you absolutely nothing about an episode, let alone a whole series worth of dynamics, but in the footage we have seen, it’s these three always walking away together. If privilege, freedom, and influence are birds of a feather, what does that mean for power and all her endeavors?

Evan Mock as Akeno “Aki” Menzies

There’s an innocent person in this group? Oh, Aki, we love you already, but no one stays innocent for long on Gossip Girl. Scandal will certainly break this potentially tender heart if something or someone doesn’t get to him first.

What would ambitious Kate do to an innocent? How about privileged Obie? Or will Aki be led by Julien’s influence? How about powerful Monet? They all could corrupt or love him. Or maybe Max will free him or Audrey will be his saving grace.

It all depends on how this show turns, but we’re sure to be looking for a twist. Like maybe Aki’s innocence has to do with a crime neither he nor we know about yet.

Whitney Peak as Zoya Lott

An on-set shot of Zoya positioned her as an outsider. Separate from the group and wearing her Constance uniform as it’s meant to be worn, Zoya looked like the picture of innocence. A picture both Julien and Max looked to be commenting on with Monet listening in.

Assuming Zoya exists apart from the world we’re sure the others have created, she may be the audience’s way into the story. “Perspective” is her caption, which brings to mind points of view and a guiding voice to help someone understand.

We also can’t help thinking of Jenny when she was simply Little J and Constance was new, fresh, and amazing to her. Back before she learned that all that glitters isn’t gold and getting the crown is only half the battle — keeping it is the war.
