Who is starring in the Gossip Girl reboot on HBO Max?

With a caption like “Influence” we can’t help but wonder if Julien Calloway is going to be our resident It Girl at Constance. Influencers are tastemakers. They put their followers onto what’s hot, what’s not, and what can dead your brand before you even get started.

It’s a precarious position to be in. You have to keep your followers happy and wanting for more. If you’re not careful, you could get swept to the side by the newest, shiniest thing that catches their attention.

We’ll have to wait and see if we should be referring to Julien as Queen J, second of her name. But if she’s a dictator of taste like Blair Waldorf, we anticipate many a scathing fashion-based insult or aside to fall from her lips, along with a possible unsolicited helping hand to those less fortunate, like the wardrobe-challenged.

Savannah Smith as Monet de Haan

If you’ve seen the small glimpse of the cast in action on the Gossip Girl Instagram, then you know Monet gives off boss lady vibes. Clad in a tweed suit with her phone in one hand and her coffee in the other, she looks like she has places to be and people to see. That’s why we’re not surprised she’s been blessed with the caption “Power.”

We suspect Monet is either class president, president of the SGA, or running her own business. Whatever she’s got going on, she’s clearly in charge. But heavy hangs the head that wears the crown. Even if Monet isn’t queen of the school, she must hold domain somewhere — which means she has something lose.

So while  Monet’s watching her phone for the latest updates, she should also be watching her back. We’re hoping, however, that she’ll at least have Julien on her side. Power and influence go hand-in-hand after all.

Zión Moreno as Luna La

“Style” is such a simple caption, but our minds immediately paired Luna with Julien. Will they be friends or frenemies? Style is timeless, while influence can fade in an instant. Luna could be the kind of laid back cool that’s effortless, as easy and breezy as a Cover Girl without a care about staying on top. That may work in Julien’s favor, or it could fuel the kind of tension that boils over into every aspect of their lives. Only time will tell.
