The Book of Boba Fett

After a stunning second season, there’s still no word on when Star Wars fans will see season three of The Mandalorian — but they do have another series to look forward to in the meantime. Announced following The Mandalorian‘s season two finale, The Book of Boba Fett will bring fans a new show following one of their favorite characters. (And after seeing  Temuera Morrison play the bounty hunter this fall, we couldn’t be more excited about it.)

We’ll have to wait until December 2021 to see Boba Fett’s story play out, but given that there’s no other Star Wars content currently slated for this year, we’ll take it. With any luck it’ll expand upon the universe and set the stage for all of the recently announced series in the franchise. (Say what you will about this decade, but it’s a great time to be a Star Wars fan.)

Shadow and Bone

Based on Leigh Bardugo’s best-selling young adult seriesShadow and Bone is set to arrive on Netflix this spring, and everything we’ve seen so far suggests the series will be a stunning adaptation of her story. Pulling its narrative from Bardugo’s Grisha Trilogy, the Netflix series will tell the story of Alina Starkov, who uncovers a power that could save her country from the dark forces that threaten it. The show will see her honing those powers and joining the Grisha military of Ravka — though there may be more going on at the palace than first meets the eye.

Shadow and Bone will also work in storylines and characters from Bardugo’s Six of Crows duology set in the same world. How exactly these characters will fit into the story remains to be seen, but just seeing these fan-favorite faces brought to life is enough to amp up the excitement surrounding this new show.

Arriving on Netflix in April, Shadow and Bone is the ideal series for fantasy fans looking for a good mix of magic and political intrigue. Add in the fact that Ben Barnes is set to play a certain character fans can’t help but love ,and it’s difficult not to be excited about this series.
