Wonder Woman 1984, the sequel to 2017’s blockbuster hit, Wonder Woman, changes things up by focusing more on character development than its predecessor. While the original movie set up Diana’s origin story, this film centers around Diana adjusting to her new life following those events. Wonder Woman 1984 is quite lengthy, coming in at just over two and a half hours, and features Diana facing off against two man-made foes this time around, with the likes of Maxwell Lord (Pedro Pascal) and Barbara Minerva/Cheetah (Kristen Wiig) playing the villains.

While the film has received mixed reviews, plenty of fans thought it was a satisfactory installment in the continuing story of Diana Prince. The introduction of new villains is always welcome, particularly ones as big as Cheetah, who we’re hoping we see again in the recently announced third installment. The sequel took a simpler approach to telling the story by concentrating on character growth, for both Diana and her opponents.

Let’s take a look at the five things we loved most about Wonder Woman 1984.
