10. “dorthea”

As you’ll see, I’m head over heels for “’tis the damn season,” so it makes sense that I love the song that is the opposite side of it. This song also makes me wonder what it would feel like to watch someone you dated in high school become famous. (High school girlfriends of Chris Evans…how does that feel?)

9. “willow”

Any song that gets the music video treatment instantly bumps up my ranking and the “willow” video is gorgeous. But what really made me love “willow” are the two remixes, the dancing witch version and the lonely witch version. We’ve come a long way from the reputation album when Taylor sang, “They’re burning all the witches even if you aren’t one.”

8. “closure”

This song’s industrial-folk sound definitely stands out from the rest of the album, but the lyrics are typical Taylor Swift poetry. Some fans have speculated that the letter mentioned might actually be a reference to the letter she received about the sale of her master’s that she posted on Twitter.

7. “gold rush”

This song takes me back to college and the resentment of having feelings for someone that everyone has a crush on. It feels like a great combination of Taylor’s current sound and her earlier subject matter.

6. “no body, no crime”

This collab with the Haim sisters will certainly top a lot of people’s rankings. A movie-worthy plot of infidelity, murder, and revenge with a mention of Olive Garden…what more could you want? The Haim sisters also posted an adorable TikTok in honor of the album’s release.

5. “marjorie”

Taylor’s song about her opera singer grandmother, Marjorie Finlay, definitely struck a chord with me. The first time I heard it, I had to pause the album to cry! This is sure to hit hard for anyone else who is missing their grandmother.
