The 100 season 7 DVD release: Here’s what we know
The 100 season 7 is finally coming to DVD and Blu-ray. Here’s what we know.
UPDATE: This set was supposed to be released right in time for Christmas, but it has since been given a new release date of January 5, 2021.
The last season of the beloved, yet controversial post-apocalyptic series The 100 has a set home media release date of December 22.
While season seven of The 100 has been ranked as one of the more contentious, in terms of certain shocking deaths and the bleak question of mankind’s future, it also had pivotal development and storylines.
In the finale, all but Clarke Griffin (Eliza Taylor) and the dead couldn’t transcend. However, Clarke’s friends sacrificed transcendence so she wouldn’t be alone on Earth. They finally found their peace and belonging, although when they pass on, humankind will be extinct.
It is a rather bleak outlook on survivability and life itself.
The show has always been the journey of Clarke Griffin; those were crossed her path were either a gift or a test that she had to pass. All of her choices and reasoning were in the name of love, but love couldn’t allow her to join in the afterlife.
The DVD/Bluray set is sure to be bundled with extras and here’s hoping that it will have blooper reels.
The small, but important details for the set’s description: (The CW/Warner Bros)

Still reeling from her mother’s death, Clarke (series star Eliza Taylor), perhaps more than anyone, feels the toll of years upon years of fighting and loss. The group soon finds that maintaining order among the competing factions is no easy feat, and one that has them questioning whether their commitment to doing better was worth the price. At the same time, our heroes must contend with new obstacles on a scale beyond any that they previously experienced as they unravel the mysteries of the Anomaly. What they encounter on this epic journey pushes them to their limits both physically and emotionally, challenging their long-held conceptions of family, love, and sacrifice. Ultimately, our heroes must answer for themselves what it means to truly live, and not just survive."
Several retailers, including Target, will also offer a The 100 Complete Series set, as well as the single season 7 release. The full set will include all seven seasons, for just over $100 USD.
This will be the ultimate holiday gift for The 100 fan and by rewatching, you will always discover a new detail or response.
Just try not to get your emotions in a tangle (again) because the show has definitely played with mine.
