Wendy Williams shares five secrets about FOX’s The Masked Singer.
The Masked Singer performer, formerly known as Lips, reveals five inside secrets about the show.
Wendy Williams was the first contestant in Group C to be unveiled on season four of the FOX reality competition show. The radio personality performed to the tune of Odyssey’s 1977 hit “Native New Yorker” with her clue package loaded with hints about her talk show such as roller skates for her talk show’s infamous shoe camera, fire for her show’s “Hot Takes” segment, and mentioning critics may have strong opinions about her but she always speaks her truth. Plus, there was even a clue showing a disco ball similar to the mirror ball trophy from Dancing with the Stars as Williams’ fans remember when she competed on season 12 of that series.
The New York Times Bestselling author couldn’t get past Jenny McCarthy or Nicole Scherzinger without them knowing who was behind Lips before the unmasking. The outspoken journalist would explain her ambition for joining the show: “Singing and dancing is not my thing, you know, I’m a talk show host. But there are certain things in life that you want to challenge yourself to do.” Willams accepted the challenge, had fun, and entertained many.
Portraying the costume character Lips was perfect for the loquacious personality. She admitted keeping her lips sealed that she was on The Masked Singer was a tough secret to keep from her family, friends, and fans. After her stint on the reality competition show was all said and done, the journalist would share her experience in the comfort of her studio in New York during an episode of The Wendy Williams Show.
