The Mandalorian’s second season premiere had plenty of highlights, but Baby Yoda hiding in things repeatedly won the episode.

It’s Baby Yoda Day! Or, uh, you know… the dayThe Mandalorian’s second season premieres on Disney+. Same thing.

The first episode, “Chapter 9: The Marshal,” was full of highlights, marking a strong start to the show’s sophomore run. But even with Mando kicking serious ass for most of the episode — and that exciting cameo at the very end — the best part of the premiere was, naturally, Baby Yoda. More specifically, we’d like to shout out all the times he slowly hid himself away from all the dangerous things happening around him this episode.

The first instance is that amazing moment from the trailer for season two, when Baby Yoda closes his carrier the moment Mando starts getting shot at in the Gamorrean Guard fighting arena. It may be no place for a child, but our favorite child has a protective covering wherever he goes! (Also, where can we buy one to hide from awkward social interactions and other unpleasantries?)

And there are at least two more moments where the Child is sitting in a bucket or basket and decides to casually dip back inside as soon as the action starts. As much as we admire Mando’s bravery, we’d love to adopt Baby Yoda’s strategy for handling crises. (It helps that everything the Child does is painfully adorable.)

So, yes, if you were wondering if Baby Yoda has lots of great moments during the season two premiere, you can officially get excited. It looks like the Child will be even more present throughout season two of The Mandalorian — and we are very, very here for it.
