Here are 5 Netflix programs to watch after you binge Emily in Paris for a better look at the city

Emily in Paris has been getting a lot of attention on Netflix. And while some of it is good, there are many viewers who are upset about the way the city of Paris is being represented onscreen. That’s why, instead of pulling together a list of shows to watch that are similar in nature to Emily in Paris, we are going for a more Parisian approach to our viewing plans for this week.

According to CNN, Parisians have actually weighed in on some movies and TV shows that better represent their city and I was shocked to see two animated movies pop up in their recommendations.

And yet, with none of their suggestions being available on Netflix, it required digging deeper.

So which programs should you check out on Netflix if you want a better appreciation for Paris after watching Emily in Paris? Here are our suggestions.

5. Paris Is Us

Short Sell: If you are looking for a romantic movie that also features drama and an intense look at life in Paris, then you will definitely want to check out Paris Is Us. Here is a French movie that offers something truly beautiful.

And even though I don’t speak French, even with subtitles, I found myself captivated by this story and the acting. This is the kind of movie you will want to watch more than once, first for the story itself and the romance, and a second time to enjoy the beauty and turbulence of the city.

Netflix describes:

"Amid a turbulent romance and rising tensions in Paris, a young woman finds herself caught in a dizzying spiral of dreams, memories and what-ifs."
