A Supercorp Resolution

Alright boys and girls, let’s strap ourselves in for this talk. At best, the writers have unintentionally been portraying Kara and Lena’s relationship as more intimate than it actually is; at worst, the show is guilty of one of the most heinous examples of queer-baiting on modern television in order to keep LGBTQ+ viewers tuning in. Either way, there is clearly something that needs to be resolved or corrected between Kara and Lena.

There has much a lot of debate over whether or not Supercorp is a true canon relationship, but we’re not debating that here. Clearly, there is a connection between Kara and Lena and — intentionally or not — the writers have portrayed it as very similar to other romantic relationships on the show. Therefore, Supercorp either needs to happen in the final season or the writers need to reel back the intensity of their relationship.

If Supercorp were to become canon, it would be unprecedented while also pleasing much of the fandom. It is the last season, so what is there to lose? Benoist and McGrath have always had more chemistry with each other than they ever did with any other male romantic interests. On the other hand, if the writers don’t want to go in that direction, the two should at least be able to come to terms with each other and be able to move on separately.

Enough is enough.
