Travel Tuesday: Get your best Halloween costume ready for Magic Kingdom
For the first time ever, everyone can wear their best Halloween costume at Magic Kingdom.
In an effort to sprinkle a little extra Pixie Dust this year, you can now get your best Halloween costume ready for the Magic Kingdom. Although Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween party may not be happening this year, the Happiest Place on Earth is still going to be filled with the Halloween spirit. For the first time ever, everyone, all ages, can wear Halloween costumes at the Magic Kingdom.
Announced via the Disney Parks Blog, this change to policy is a first for Walt Disney World. While younger guests can dress as their favorite princess or the most terrible pirate, older guests felt a little left out. Although the annual Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween party allowed costumes, regular park attendance does not.
This year, from September 15 through October 31, all guests can wear their favorite costume. Adults cannot wear costume masks, and everyone must still wear approved face coverings while in the theme park.
Although people might not be able to see the nighttime spectacular this year, all the Disney characters are in the spooky spirit. A special Halloween-themed cavalcade will have Mickey, Minnie, and friends ready to “boo” this. In addition, the Magic Kingdom is fully decorated in all the fall finery.
In addition, there will be plenty of Halloween-inspired treats around the park. From Mickey pumpkin popcorn bucket to sweet and spooky treats, there is a little eerie glow to magical fun.
With this change to the Halloween costume policy, it could be a fun idea to match your costume with one of the new Disney face coverings. The new face coverings are based on favorite rides.
For example, why not match the Haunted Mansion mask to a Haunted Mansion inspired costume. Or, channel everyone’s iconic It’s a Small World with a group of friends. Just like Lady Gaga at the VMAs, it is all about coordinating your outfit with your face mask.
Even though the spooky season at Magic Kingdom looks a bit different this year, Disney is making its best efforts to make the holiday season as special as possible. These modifications to bring a little extra Pixie Dust. In some ways, this year has special memories that might resonate even more.
As some people have seen around Disney Parks, the opportunity to be back in the happy place brings a touch of familiar and normal. It isn’t about recreating a memory from the past, it is about rediscovering that sense of magic that gives people hope.
Start planning your best Halloween costume and head to Magic Kingdom this fall. It might be the best way to enjoy the spooky season?
