Anyone wondering if the Snyder Cut of Justice League would really be as epic as promised was in for a pleasant surprise when its first trailer dropped at DC FanDome.

The Snyder Cut of Justice League has received so much hype — both before, leading up to, and during DC FanDome — that one had to wonder if the film could actually live up to the expectations set for it. And we still don’t have a definite answer to that question, but the first trailer for the Snyder Cut has us leaning toward yes. Because the footage makes the Justice League look epic as ever.

Released at DC FanDome this weekend, the new trailer opens with a look at the villain Darkseid before delving into footage of the film’s DCEU heroes working together. Set to a haunting rendition of “Hallelujah,” the glimpses of action fans get focus on each and every member of the Justice League and promise to challenge our heroes more than ever.

Watch the first full-length trailer for the Snyder Cut here:

Although the DCEU films don’t have quite as much build-up as the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Snyder’s version of Justice League certainly seems reminiscent of Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame — particularly with its focus on the team of heroes coming together to defeat the unbeatable.

And the trailer’s final clip emphasizes that point, with Ezra Miller’s Flash telling the rest of the team what they’re up against: a villain who has already destroyed numerous planets and killed the people on them. Luckily, Ben Affleck’s Batman — the brooding hero himself — offers the group hope: “I don’t care how many demons he’s fought, and how many hells. He’s never fought us; not us united.”

Touché. That’s exactly the sort of energy most DC fans were hoping for when this film originally hit theaters, and it looks like we may finally get something that lives up to expectations in the Snyder Cut. Fingers crossed.
