Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD season 7 episode 11 preview: Undercover operatives
Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD heads into its penultimate episode with Kora begging for SHIELD’s help — just to be an operative on the inside.
Things really aren’t looking up for Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD. Last week’s episode gave us Nathaniel Malick recruiting John Garrett to his faux-Brotherhood of Mutants and transferring Gordon’s teleportation powers into him.
That and they also killed Jiaying. Which is a problem because Daisy hasn’t been born yet in this very messed-up timeline.
Here’s the official synopsis for this week’s episode, “Brand New Day,” courtesy of ABC:
"“With the help of Kora on the inside, Sibyl and Nathanial continue their fight to shape a dark new future for S.H.I.E.L.D., managing to stay one step ahead of the agents along the way. If the team is going to turn this one around, they’ll have to get creative, and maybe even a little out of this world.”"
Yeah, I didn’t think Kora would really be on SHIELD’s side. She went too evil too quickly to be anything else.
Do we think it’s possible for them to save Jiaying? She does have healing powers, but they take an intact spinal column to work. Having Malick snap her neck kind of takes that away. But our SHIELD team has some crazy Chronicom tech. Does it work in bringing people back to life? It healed Daisy after Malick tortured her halfway to death, but we don’t know if it could resurrect from beyond the grave.
On a happier note, it is very possible that we will, finally, catch a glimpse of Fitz in this week’s episode. Malick and Garrett have taken the Zephyr and Simmons (and Deke, unbeknownst to them) hostage and plan to make her take them to Fitz. Will they know how to take out DIANA? I can’t imagine Simmons would willingly tell them even when taking her memory blocker out, but we saw how distraught she was last time…. She may not realize what she’s saying.
