Comic-Con@Home: Watch the opening minutes of The Walking Dead’s season 10 finale!

The Walking Dead season 10 finale isn’t airing until October, but fans can watch the opening minutes of the episode right now.
When The Walking Dead abruptly ended season 10 with episode 1015, the real wrath of the Whisperers over Alpha’s death was only just beginning. Beta led a huge herd of walkers through Alexandria, but the survivors had disappeared.
In that episode, Beta fulfilled Alpha’s plan to bring an enormous herd of walkers and Whisperers down on the survivors to wipe them out completely. He was in the process of leading them to the old hospital where the survivors had taken refuge. The episode, titled “A Certain Doom,” mimicked the comics in some key ways and made it look like one or more of the survivors wouldn’t make it out of that old hospital.
But the finale, which was supposed to immediately follow 1015, couldn’t be finished. And fans have been waiting for news about the intense season 10 conclusion for months. During the show’s Comic-Con@Home panel, showrunner Angela Kang was finally able to give fans a confirmed date for when the finale will air: October 4.
In the meantime, fans can watch the opening minutes of “A Certain Doom” to get ready for the long-awaited ending in October. And even if it doesn’t seem like it, October isn’t that far away — so hang tough, TWD family!

Maggie’s Return
One of the most-anticipated events from the finale that has already been announced is the return of Lauren Cohan as Maggie Greene Rhee. Lauren left the show early in season nine with a quiet departure that left Maggie’s storyline open in case she wanted to return. Maggie is featured in the season 10 finale and will be back as a regular character in season 11.
Maggie’s absence was explained away as her going to stay with Georgie and learn more about farming and the other topics in Georgie’s giant book of apocalypse instructions. But, after receiving a letter from Carol telling her about the Whisperers, Maggie knows it’s time to go home and help the communities and survivors she loves.
